Daisy Abbott joins GME in a placement with new client Institutional Investor

Global Marketing Exchange is delighted to welcome Daisy Abbott to the program. Daisy recently started a role at Euromoney (Institutional Investor) as a Client Services Specialist, working work under the wing of Lois Wilkins, a fellow Brit and the Client Engagement Manager at Euromoney NYC. Daisy will support a series of high profile, members-only Investment Institute events in a challenging role that will give her the opportunity to visit Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles during the year. Welcome, Daisy!

Global Marketing Exchange is delighted to welcome our most recent trainee, Emily Harper, to NYC in her new role as a Marketing Specialist for Thomson Reuters.

Before crossing the pond, Emily worked as an account executive for digital agency Propeller. Her previous experience includes a PR assistant role with the BBC, and participation in a cultural exchange program at Walt Disney World Florida. An avid traveler, Emily has volunteered at an orphanage in Ghana, Africa, and completed an English teaching internship in Hanoi, Vietnam. Her journey continues this week in the Big Apple. We’re excited to have Emily join us as the first of our Spring 2018 trainees and look forward to following along on her journey over the next year.

Diploma in hand, you realize that getting an OPT placement is harder than writing your thesis. Any recent graduate has a hard time finding the right fit in this job market. But for international graduates, the challenge is exponentially harder. One of the first things people say to you when you’re looking for the right OPT placement is that you must have a positive attitude. I don’t believe this. Reality is, odds are against you. You must have a fighter attitude instead.
